joannes yuh

Joannes Yuh hails from Boyo Division in the North West Region of Cameroon.  He completed his secondary and high school education from St Bede’s college Ashing, Kom and later obtained a B.Sc in Biochemistry and Medical Laboratory Technology from the University of Buea. Joannes later worked in Malaria research after graduations and later travelled to the United States to pursue graduate studies in Biological Sciences at East Tennessee State University. Upon graduation, Joannes was offered a research fellowship position at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine where he conducted drug discovery research on HIV/AIDS, Cancer and Neurodegenerative disorders. Joannes later relocated to Toronto, Canada where he currently works for a Gene and Cell Therapy Manufacturing company as a Development Technologist. When not working, Joannes is actively involved in community programs in his local city of Toronto. He is very passionate in development work, empowering communities and promoting social justice. Joannes’ greatest wish is to move back to Cameroon and share the knowledge and experiences with his community. As Artika Tyner  once said– “Make a commitment to serve the needs of the ‘least of these’ and give voice to the voiceless.”
